Hands down, food is one of the primary ways we keep our bodies growing strong. So, of course we need to talk about food. Yes, our primary source of strength comes from our faith, but we also need rest, exercise, relationships, fun and FOOD! That’s why I thought it would be fun to share some timeless family recipes.

Most bloggers who share recipes will give you lots of steps, lots of images, and usually a fun video. I’m more of a “Scroll to the end to get the recipe” kind of girl. And for certain, my recipes aren’t fancy A few of the recipes have been created or tweaked, but most are straight from a favorite cookbook, blogger, or passed along from a friend. Those are usually the best kind. These are all timeless family recipes!

Selfishly, I wanted a place to keep all my favorites and this seemed like the perfect spot. Feel free to print these recipes if you are old school like me. And of course you can Pin it for safe keeping.

Most of these recipes aren’t hard or complicated. They are just good. I imagine some will be familiar to you.

Timeless Family Recipes Get Around

Growing up in Arkansas and Kansas, then living in Kentucky for 32 years, I’ve found that recipes get passed around with slight changes from different regions. Far example, my mother-in-law bakes her Texas Chocolate Sheet Cakes for most holidays. It is a classic, and I make a very similar Kansas Chocolate Sheet Cake! There’s maybe one different ingredient! Isn’t it fascinating how recipes were shared and spread across our nation, especially before the internet? That’s why I want to share our timeless family recipes. I hope you will love them too.
