Quick little bites to give you energy just when you need it. The energy bites are made with healthy ingredients, but also help when you are craving something sweet.
1/3cupChocolate Protein Powder(I use Arbonne Simply 1 Feel Fit Pea Protein. It has less than 1 gram of sugar per serving.)
2cupsdry oats( prefer old-fashioned instead of quick-cooking oats.)
1cupground flax seed
⅔cuphoney
⅔cupmini or regular semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Melt the almond butter in a medium-size mixing bowl in the microwave, or melt the butter on the stove top.
Add all the remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl
Stir until all the ingredients are well mixed
Use a spoon to scoop out a small amount of mixture and shape into a ball with your hands. Make sure the mixture is tightly packed in a ball or they can fall apart.
Place the energy bites on waxed paper as you make them. They will be a bit sticky.
Mix will make approximately 40 balls
Store the energy bites in the refrigerator up to a week. They don't have to be refrigerated, but they are a bit sticky to eat if they are stored at room temperature.
